“When we worship together, we are doing more than singing songs,” Pastor Marcus says. “We are creating a collective sound of faith that declares God is greater than whatever we carried into the room.”

He points to Acts 16, where Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises while imprisoned. Suddenly, an earthquake shook the foundations of the prison, the doors opened, and everyone’s chains were loosed. Pastor Marcus emphasizes an important detail: their praise did not only affect them. Everybody in the atmosphere experienced the impact.

“That is what I love about corporate worship,” he explains. “Sometimes your praise is not just for you. The person standing beside you may need the faith, joy, and expectation that your worship helps release into the atmosphere.”

Psalm 22:3 reminds believers that God inhabits the praises of His people. For Pastor Marcus, this means the church should approach worship with expectation. People may enter the sanctuary carrying different burdens, questions, victories, and challenges, but when everyone begins magnifying God together, attention shifts from the magnitude of the problem to the greatness of God.

Pastor Marcus encourages churches everywhere to rediscover the beauty of simply lingering in the presence of God.

“Preaching informs us. Teaching develops us. Prayer strengthens us. But there are moments when the entire room needs to forget about everything else and simply lift up Jesus together.”

Luke 16:10 teaches, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.” Faithfulness with what is already in our possession prepares us for greater responsibility. Before asking for another level, believers should consider how faithfully they are managing the level they presently occupy.

Pastor Marcus also believes that financial increase does not always arrive through unexpected money. Sometimes prosperity comes disguised as an idea, an opportunity, a relationship, a contract, a business concept, or a new strategy for something already in your hands. The next financial breakthrough could begin with wisdom concerning what to stop spending, what to start building, where to invest, or how to better utilize an existing resource. When God gives wisdom, He is often giving the foundation upon which future increase can be built.

“The next wave will be different from the last one,” Pastor Marcus declares. “You will have the wisdom to recognize opportunities, the discipline to manage increase, and the discernment to know when to spend, when to save, when to sow, and when to build.” This kind of stewardship moves a person beyond simply having enough for the present and develops the ability to establish something meaningful for the future.

Pastor Marcus encourages believers to develop the mentality of builders rather than simply consumers. Financial blessing should produce more than temporary comfort.
